My DVR suffered its first casualty of the new TV season. I have deleted “Knight Rider” from the series record list. It was … atrocious.
BBC America’s delightful Britcom, “Gavin and Stacey” finished up its first American run of Season 1. I think it was 6 episodes. I am not the type of person generally interested in Britcoms, but I found this to be a wonderfully put together, scripted, and acted television show. I was very happy to hear the first American run of Season 2 begins in two weeks. If you have not yet watched this show, I recommend it highly. Even having missed some episodes, you can jump right in without being too lost.
The #1 new show of the new television season in the all-important 18-to-49 demographic has turned out to be FOX’s new J.J. Abrams drama, “Fringe”. Yesterday FOX picked the show up for a full season. In dire news, however, it looks like FOX’s, “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” is on the verge of being cancelled due to spectacularly low ratings. This would upset me, as it is one of my favorite shows on TV right now. Its problem is schedule-related. It is up against NBC’s, “Chuck”, ABC’s, “Dancing with the Stars”, and CBS’s, “How I Met Your Mother”. Something needs to give on Monday nights at 8pm. Those are four powerful shows directly competing. I hope FOX executive will give T:SCC a second chance by moving it to another time slot.
